29 Broken and Fallen Trees in North Jakarta Fully Evacuated

The North Jakarta City Parks and Cemetery Sub-agency managed to evacuate 29 broken and fallen trees caused by heavy rain accompanied with strong winds, Monday (1/12).

Head Section of Green Line and Cemetery of the Sub-agency, Habib Prabandoko said all incoming reports were immediately followed up by officers in the field.

"We received a total of 29 incident reports from morning to evening and we have handled all of them quickly," he said, Tuesday (1/13).

Trees fell on main roads, residential areas, parks, and even public cemeteries. Personnel moved based on priority, particularly in locations that could potentially disrupt public safety and traffic flow.

"The tree diameter ranges from 10-60 centimeters with a height of around 12-25 meters," he added.

He continued none of the fallen tree incident resulted in any fatalities or significant material losses. Only one incident affected a public facility, a lamppost in GG CC Park in Rawa Badak Utara Urban Village.

"We deployed 56 personnel divided into teams in each district and one support team. We have nine units in our fleet, including a waste collection vehicle for tree waste management," he continued.

Habib urged the public to be more vigilant, especially during heavy rain and strong winds. Residents are also asked to actively report any trees that could fall.
